Breast Enlargement in USA

Breast Enlargement, also known as breast augmentation or breast implant, is a simple surgical technique used to reconstruct the size of breasts which are reduced after breast feeding, pregnancy and due to weight loss. In 2006, 329,000 breast enlargement procedures were performed in the U.S which indicates its immense popularity among modern women.

There are two primary types of breast implants: saline-filled and silicone-gel-filled implants. Saline implants have a silicone elastomer shell filled with sterile saline liquid. Silicone gel implants have a silicone shell filled with a viscous silicone gel.

It is found from various researches that usually younger, healthier, from more high economic status and more often married women are opting for breast enlargement. These women have low self-esteem and are distressed about their appearance. They also develop suicidal tendencies. Before going for breast enlargement, these women will have to undergo psychotherapy treatment.

Though the recovery from this kind of treatment is very fast, women make claims of systematic illness and disease. Complaints include neurological and rheumatologic problems. Local implications that can occur with breast enlargement include post-operative bleeding, fluid collections, surgical site infection, breast pain, alterations in nipple sensation, visible wrinkling etc.

Despite of these complications and problems, the number of breast implant patients are on the rise and the future is not so bleak. So women are ready to tolerate pain to gain something really valuable.
